Pierre N. Thomas is a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey. He earned his Master of Social Work degree from the Howard University School of Social Work and a Master of Public Health from The Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. He brings diverse experience from child welfare, school-based and community mental health, hospital violence intervention, as well as crisis and emergency psychiatric care for individuals from childhood through geriatrics.

As a clinician, Pierre’s approach is rooted in integrating psychodynamic theory and cognitive behavioral approaches. These support the individual in problem identification, behavioral change, and growth toward self-actualization while also accounting for biological, social, emotional, and environmental contributory factors.

He has extensive experience providing trauma-informed care, Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), treatment of Depression, Anxiety, and other Mood Disorders in adolescents 13+, Crisis Response, and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
